Q&A
What will the money be used for?
-
Capital expenditures needed to operate on the parking lot rather than the field (e.g., new signage, spot markers, etc.)
-
Advertising to ensure the local and regional community is aware of the new location
-
Events celebrating the market’s 15th anniversary
-
Supporting the larger vision of an ongoing Community Market
What is the Community Market, and how is it related?
We believe that those who love the Attleboro Farmers Market and enjoy supporting its local small business community should be able to do so year-round. The Attleboro Community Market will focus on:
-
Providing vendors and customers with a year-round, in-person market opportunity
-
Providing a physical retail space as a sales channel, a place for new businesses to test products, and a meeting/event space
-
Developing an online sales channel. We have already begun developing a commerce site that will allow not only local customers but also national shoppers to purchase products from Attleboro small businesses.
Will this take focus away from AFM operations?
No. There is an entire team solely dedicated to AFM operations, with a vision to make this the best year yet. The Community Market is a longer-term project being led by a subcommittee.
